Perfect for beginners
This is the instructional I wish existed when I started. Danaher explains everything from scratch — what closed guard IS, why it works, how to break posture. Then he builds up to sweeps and submissions in a logical order. No assumption of prior knowledge. The GFF series is Danaher at his most accessible.
I use this to teach my beginners
As a coach, I've built my beginner curriculum around the GFF series. Danaher's approach of teaching the WHY behind each technique makes it much easier for my students to retain information. The closed guard volume is especially good — it gives white belts a real game plan from day one.
Great fundamentals, even for experienced grapplers
I'm a brown belt and I still picked up details watching this. Danaher has a way of explaining basic positions that reveals layers you didn't know existed. The hip bump to triangle chain is presented in a way that finally clicked for me after years of doing it wrong.
